The
Captain Howes Suite

Captain Calvin C. Howes started sailing the sea when he was only 11 years old and took his first deep-water voyage at age 14! He spent many years commanding ships, and in 1880 he left the mariner’s life to become a rancher in Montana. A mere five years later, he returned to his beloved Dennis, MA, where he built Scargo Manor, married, and raised his children. Scargo Manor Bed & Breakfast was built by a shipbuilder and still contains pieces of Captain Howes’ ships in the construction and on the grounds.
