Cape Cod National Seashore

A national park with great visitor centers in Eastham and Provincetown. Biking and walking trails, beaches, dunes and picnic area.

Cape Cod Rail Trail

Starts at Rte. 134, Dennis and ends in Wellfleet. Approximately 39 miles of biking and walking trails; mostly on flat surfaces, through lakes, beaches and even some bogs.

Massachusetts Audubon Society & Wildlife Sanctuary

Located in Wellfleet. There many trails and sites to experience.

Nickerson State Forest

In Brewster on Rte. 6A – Hiking and biking trails through forests and lake areas.


Located on Rte. 28, West Yarmouth. Seal water shows, petting zoo. Great for the children.

Movie Theaters

The Cape Cinema is on the Playhouse grounds, a 5 minute walk from Scargo Manor. The theater offers foreign and independent files. Check out the Rockwell Kent mural on the ceiling. -


Cape Cod Museum of Natural History - on Rte. 6A, Brewster. -

Heritage Plantation - In the town of Sandwich, about a half hour from Scargo Manor. The plantation contains acres of gardens, trails, antique cars, changing exhibits and a carousel. -

Thornton Burgess Museum – Mr. Burgess, who was born and raised in Sandwich, MA., went on to achieve national and international recognition for his children’s stories that teach lessons of conservation and love of wildlife. -
